The Husqvarna 236 chainsaw is a firm favourite as a start-up model and the perfect hobbyist saw. It is also suitable for general garden work such as pruning, cutting firewood and lighter cutting tasks. The machine, which comes with a 35cm/14” guide bar and a 3/8” pitch chain, is extremely easy to start, operate and manage with a host of efficient, ergonomic and environmentally friendly features.
Possibly the best feature of the Husqvarna 236 chainsaw is the 38.2cc X-Torq 2-stroke petrol engine. X-Torq engines are used in a lot of Husqvarna professional chainsaws and give that added bit of power on-top of being so much better for the environment than standard chainsaws. The engine produces 75% less exhaust emissions and has up to 20% better fuel consumption.
Combined choke/stop control and effective fuel pump provide a much easier start-up and also go a way to reducing the chances of engine flooding. A centrifugal air cleaning system helps reduce wear on the chainsaw and increased operating time between filter cleaning.
Husqvarna pride themselves on making excellent quality, ergonomic products. Their LowVib technology is used on pretty much all their chainsaws now and it goes a way to reducing the noise level of the saw as well as easing pressure on the users limbs. This is done through anti-vibration dampeners cleverly placed inside the body of the 236, separating the engine from the outer parts of the chains and so nullifying any engine vibration.
Safety is also a massive issue when it comes to operating chainsaws and the 236 comes with an inertia-activated chain brake meaning it will automatically cut off in the event of kickback or sudden upwards movement of the saw.
