Description
A couple of advanced features help to push the 550 XP into a higher bracket of quality. AutoTune eliminates old fashioned carburettor adjustments and compensates for use of different fuels, higher or lower altitude, extreme humidity and temperatures and clogged air filters. AutoTune also allows optimal engine performance during automatic engine setting. X-Torq, another feature which is present on a lot of Husqvarna chainsaws, allows for a more environmentally friendly saw that meets all the world policies and regulations on the environment.
Usability and ergonomics are also key when it comes to successful operation of a chainsaw and Husqvarna have added a fair few features into the 550 XP. Smart Start allows the chainsaw to be started quickly and easily with starter cord resistance now reduced by up to 40%. The saw’s fuel pump is also designed for easy starting. Another feature allowing for an efficient engine start, is the combined choke/stop control which also reduces risk of engine flooding.
For use in extreme weather conditions, you will need to adjust your chain tension and thanks to a side-mounted chain tensioner, the task is a breeze. Chain lubrication is also made easy thanks to an adjustable oil pump. In terms of fuel, the chainsaw is equipped with a transparent fuel indicator that makes checking the fuel levels as easy as the flip-up tank cap does when refuelling. During a task, felling marks can come in handy and the 550 XP comes with distinctly colour marks allowing for a far better level of felling precision.
Changing filters and spark plugs is made easy with the Husqvarna 550 XP and thanks to a snap-lock cylinder, cleaning and replacing becomes a piece of cake. Filters can also cause issues, but the chainsaw has a centrifugal air cleaning system, which can reduce any wear and increase the time between required cleaning. Kickback can cause serious injury when operating a chainsaw and this is why the saw comes with an inertia-activated chain brake which will cut off in the event of kickback or a sudden upwards movement.
